Cloudwater : Fresh IPA 0.5% 4/5

I do hope it doesn't taste like cloud water, as that's rain!

Great looking can and it sounds cracking - let's get into it.

First and Last Impressions

As the can bursts open you are greeted with a lemony, melon-y smell, (try and say that after a few cans of full fat IPA) with a subtle hop hidden in there. It pours well and is a cloudy custard colour. The head is full on the pour but for me dissipated quite quickly, not quick enough for me to have a gulp first. Well, this is a brave new world for me, having only really been drinking AF lagers for 2 years this is a revelation. The mouthfeel is heavy or thick, not sure on the correct description but it's not lager and its not watery, this has substance. On the tongue, it's slightly fizzy with what I imagine are tiny bubbles, a very nice sensation. The flavours on the first taste are grapefruit, pineapple, and I found a definite honey dew melon taste at the end, supported by a hop, malt taste.

This kicks ass. I have said before, I struggle with very flowery IPA smells you can get, but this was gentle and oh so nice. Who would have thought you could achieve this without alcohol.

The Final Score

I will have to be careful here, having only really compared lagers for scoring so far, these IPA's change the playing field ! they are not the same. I will score accordingly on how much I like them, not how clever, or well-made they are. This is about taste and enjoyment. To sum up, a really nice, easily drinkable and enjoyable beer, with bags of flavour that are really well balanced and do not leave you wishing for more. it's fruity with a lovely beer flavour running underneath. I will be buying this again. This is must try
