No fishes or deep sea submarines here

A new brewery here "BrightSide Brewing Co."
Let's get into it.
First and Last Impressions
Crack it open and get it in a glass. It's a deep dark amber colour with a good frothy head.
it didn't stay around (to be expected). Plenty of fizz though.
The aroma is very malty and oaty I would say with a hint of sweetness.
First taste is a strong malty rich flavour, it's a big flavour to be honest. As it calms down on my pallet it becomes nutty. (reminds me of London Pride)
The finish is nutty, oaty, burnt toasty with a bitterness that hangs arounds. it's shame it takes over, as the first taste is really nice.
I think this could be good with something meaty - like meat, or a steak pie etc.

The Final Score
To Sum up: It's got some great flavours , the malty punch is nice and the oatyness really does remind me of a slightly sweet oaty biscuit. It's the bitter finish you are left with that troubles me. like burnt toast.
I think if this was paired with a meaty meal it would work wonders, but I drank it on its own so was a bit out of kilter.
Frustratingly I knocked it down a bit.
Maybe I will try it again with some food and re-score
