Sour Beer, what's that all about?

This popped my sour beer cherry ( or should I say Raspberry)

First and Last Impressions

Well , where do you start?

The pour was fizzy, but little to no head. The colour is amazing, never seen anything like this before.

An almost magical hazy dark pink liquid filled my glass. There wasn't really any aroma, a hint of fruit flavour but nothing to call out.

First taste was salty, then fruity, lots of sweet juicy raspberry and cherry flavours coming through finishing with the sourness that I found citrusy and lemony. There is an underlying taste of malt and hops but it's very subtle. The saltiness passed quickly leaving the juicy fruity goodness.

It has a nice mouthfeel with a medium body ( I would say).

The Final Score

As a first sour beer, it was exciting to drink and taste it. Very unusual flavours but overall pleasant. I will need to try more of these sours to see if that saltiness is the norm. It's not unpleasant just unexpected. This new world of beers is very exciting and I love that I get a chance to try all these drinks out. IS this one an all-nighter?, not for me, however taking some of these to a friend's house to share and enjoy is definitely the way to go. Why be boring with beer?

It's a fun drink, it excites my palate. Would I buy it again? maybe yes.

To sum up: Interesting to try, enjoyable to drink but a very new experience for me.

I would definitely recommend you try this, even just to try a Sour beer.
