Shipyard LowTide 0.5% Pale Ale 4/5

Another boating inspired beer, this time from Portland Maine (but brewed in the UK)

Drop anchor, sit back and enjoy a refreshing pale ale.

First and Last Impressions

Pop! goes the cap and you get a nice sharp hoppy scent, not strong, just a hint. Easy pour and for me very little head, but a few bubbles left on the edge. it's a light crisp golden colour. First drop on the tongue and its very much like a lager in terms of mouthfeel but less fizz, perfect amount in fact. Then you get a citrus tartness followed by, dear I say it pineapple. its great !, gentle hops seeps through and a clean finish, the after taste is mild and very pleasant. This is a cracking drink ! I had this with a homemade "Succulent Chinese Me-al" and it was really good, again with the citrusy hops, it cut through the smoky style food with ease.

it's light, fruity with a soft flowery aroma.

The Final Score

Well what can I say, I think I may have to adjust my scoring as this is high! making the other scores seems harsh. I new this might happen, I was hoping I would find better beers than the ones I had already tried and left space in the score to show that, but you can't ignore your tastebuds and this is good. I really enjoyed this and was gutted I only bought 1 :( To sum up, a refreshing, subtly fruity pale ale with citrus and hops flavours and a little sharpness, all wrapped up with nice aroma. Great work @shipyardbeeruk This is a must try !
